Rightyo :D discus are out thanks for the help... also might not be 4-5 angles... might just be like 3 larger ones cuz I do still need a centre piece fish :lol:
 
not really... Clown knives get to 18" in captivity... you may be thinking of an AFRICAN clown knife which gets to 2ft+ even in captivity... two different speices of Clown knives... also you may be judging this on the size of ghost knives... they get like 2ft+ in captivity too...
 
Ghost knives grow a lot smaller in captivity than Clown Knives. No way you could keep a clown knife in this tank and a Ghost would need rehoming in the end but they grow pretty slowly. :good:
 
Cane... many different sources out there... don't just check one I've checked several... 20" is usually the MAXIMUM size you will see a clown knife and their growth rate reall isn't that fast... I mean 10-12" in a year is more accurate... check this site... http://www.aqualandpetsplus.com/Knife,%20Clown.htm , They tell you different size... as do many other sites... you can't be sure untill you have tried and GHOST knives get upwards of 20" in captivity... where as some sites say more or a little less (18" being minimum I've seen) Most sites say 18-20" for clown knives...

Also, by the time my clown knife reaches 1ft in length I'll have atleast a 75gallon tank for him if not 100gallons...
 
The main difference is that a Ghost knife isnt really a natural predator, although it will eat small fish, a Clown Knife is a deadly predator and will eat anything it can.
 
im not relying on one information source,in a decent size tank a clown knife will grow 24"+ easily
 
But for now in a 55gallon tank, he can still obtain that size! but not as quickly, also he will be moved to a lager tank within a year so there are no problems...

from info on many sites I've seen they say they max out at 18-20"!!! BTW that forum is not there... ALSO... you said before to people (myself included) that no goldfish can reach 1ft+ in length except for kois WRONG I bought 3 feeder fish 6 years ago and all 3 are 11"+ in my pond
