Hey, i'm hoping to get 6 of either neon tetra or glowlight tetras for my 50 liter tank. Its planted and theres plenty of hiding places. Basically i was worried about how hardy the neons would be, and was wondering if glowlights would be a good alternative (not cardinals, my water is too hard and alkaline). I'd really love neons, but if they are going to die, id rather choose a better fish.

There are 4 male guppies in the tank.

Glowlights are hardier, but ive never had problems with neons... Its your choiced really!

Well eventually i'll have both as ill upgrade to a 125 liter, but which do i want first!!

I'd go fr glowlights if its a new tank, then neons after everythings been running smoothly for a week or two.

If you buy the bigger neons rather than the puny small ones that are like 50p each, you will most likely end up saving money :good:.

lol should have said the tanks been set up over a year :)

Either one then all down to personal choice :D.

But you will always be better off with the larger more expensive neons, the small ones are very sensitive and more frequently carry neon tetra disease.

I'll probably go with neons then, their colours would look great in the tank i have at the moment.
