I searched this but didnt find anything put does anybody wear gloves when using test kits I spilled some on my hand yesterday and even though I washed my hands really really good Iam I little under the weather. I was just wondering and thought this might be intresting for begginers. I reread my instuctions but didnt see anything about wearing gloves just to use in a well ventilated area. Just be intresting to see If anybody does wear gloves.

I've never worn gloves when using test-kits but did when using ammonia.
Do the test kits have any warnings on them? By law they have to have warning signs if they are an irritant or hazardous or anything (you know those yellow symbols)
If there are no warnings and no instructions to wear gloves I reckon it is probably just a coincidence

I think you could be ill if you had ingested some test kit but i think its unlikely. The test solutions are not that potent and washing with soap and water will cope adequately.

It's preferable not to get any tested water or the chemicals used to do the testing on your skin. Most of them are potentially hazardous chemicals and can cause skin irritation. They are definitely toxic if you ingest them but as mentioned by Piltdownpaul, they do wash off with soapy water. Although some leave an unpleasant smell on your skin for a while.

If you keep medications and test kits in a cool place they last longer than in a warm spot.
