Hey! Weā€™ve had this guy for a bit now, maybe a few years? Heā€™s had a bloated belly for a while now and Iā€™m not really sure what his/her deal is. Any thoughts?

From what I read (not a lot) Glofish can do strange things as to appearance and behavior. It has to be remembered that these things are genitally modified so really don't fit in any aspect of nature.

I would guess by the body style that your fish was genetically modified from a skirt tetra. Unfortunately this does not mean that the critter needs the same treatment as a natural skirt tetra. Glofish are wild cards that aren't even totally understood by the geneticists that created the things. They ARE pretty though. ;)

Ahhh, a thought... Do you have blue in your lighting? From the little I've read Glofish are designed for blue lighting which tends to bring out their neon colors.

if the fish is eating well, acting normally, and doing normal poop, it is a female with eggs. nothing to worry about
