Hi everyone. Bought my girlfriend a tank. It is about 10G (40L). Here is a picture of it her tank set up and running :)

At the moment she has 4 cichlids in there (dunno which yet)
I put one of her fish into my tank (which i think is a flat headed gudgeon but cant find much info on it.) Anyone able to identify it:

Sorry for poor quality picture

Nice looking tank. The cichlids sort of look like Brichardi from the first pic there. Not sure on the gudgeon. It looks like it could be a goby of some sort.

Ill have a look at some gobys on this website. The guy i bought the tank from for the missus said that he thinks is a flathead gudgeon. From my reserach it only grows 8cm on average. But doesnt say anything else so ill try to find the goby hopefully it is there :P

Thanks for the cihclid ill try to find out if its that one. And ill try to get pictures of it next time im at her house.

Thank you,

Regards<

EDIT:
Definetly not a Brichardi. The fins are not that long. Ill try to get a nice picture tomorrow. Little hard they are quick and hide lol.

i like that log thing.
you should look into some real plants. or atleast some silk plants if you insist on fake ones. it will look much better.

Thanks. The picture is actualy taken fro ma downward angel as was sitting on the ground lol.

Also, the heater is only an inch or so off the gravel lol. Its not a very tall tank.

Any ideas on the small fish that i have pictured. Cant manage to get a good picture of the cichlid yet lol

Im actualy trying to get my hands on some live plants and some java moss, but LFS arnt very good lol

Indir

im sure kenny was referring to placing the heater completely horizontal to the substrate rather then at an angle. its a better way to go with the heater.

in regards to the cichlids, you will need to get a c loser picture to get a proper ID. cant really see what it is from that view.

the chord and heating unit are made to be submerged. nothing to worry about as long as you dont cut through the insulation.

as far as decorating, thats completely up to you. if they are african cichlids, you will probably want to go with sand substrate rather then gravel. also some nice rockwork as a centerpiece. and definitely some live plants. probably something low light and low maintenance if youre just getting into live plants. (the usual suspects: anubias, java fern, java moss, amazon swords.)

Thanks bitter, ill get the missus some information and she can decide. I think she might end up getting a betta for the tank, she is still thinking though :)

Ill have to look into the plants for my tank too hehehe :)

Any plants that will grow around 18 inches high but not overrun the tank and arnt to hard to care for? Will be going in my tank :D

Regards,
Indir
