Ive noticed that my Yellow Labs have all gone quite shy, some hide away whilst others tend to sit on the tops of rocks or the bottom of the tank, one of them whom i guess to be the dominant one still parades around the tank as normal.

They all eat as normal too.

Im wondering is this normal or am i looking at somthing thats effecting the fish ?

They do seem to breath quite heavy ( or at least it looks that way), I was reading up on things and it mentions Gill flukes can cause this ? ( ive not seen any scratching).

Ive also read they get shy when they are holding eggs ? id be surprised if 3 are all carrying at once

My water is all ok (tested three times today) and ive raised the temp a bit too.

Ive also done a water change just incase

Any ideas or am I over reacting ?

Only issue is i intend to go this week to buy my next 4 Yellow labs.

All fish dead, no idea why but it must have been somthing introduced by the LFS as the tank they had gone in had been a running tank for years with no issues of anything.

so I now have a 240L fluval that im breaking downto fully clean it up also re-seal the hood and fit some LED lighting, and ill start again but i doubt ill end up pyaing anything over a fiver for a fish again.

Sorry for your losses. I have just started a Malawi tank (after shutting tank down in Jan) when I had tropical fish they kept dying, water was fine etc etc. TBH local fish shops are more trouble than they are worth (with some exceptions). I ordered my fish online this time and so far so good.

Heya,

Good luck with your cichlids, when I first got Mine they looked stunning, I will deff contemplate re-doing the tank again to a malawi but the cost puts me off.
