These are REAL giant bettas! Just got them in the mail today :)
This is the one I already had... it tried to pick a fight with my leopard ctenopoma, but there hasn't been any trouble since, and the bite is regrowing nicely.

Big male fusca, still stressed from shipping

All 4 together, the fusca pair, one raja and the (supposedly fusca) one I had before. They are plotting against me.

Two smaller rajas who weren't big enough yet to avoid being eaten in the 29 gallon. They are currently sharing a 10 gallon with my female bettas, no problems :)

aren't they fun? I didn't mention, the rajas should be good with other bettas they grew up with my CTPK babie and a veil baby who had swim bladder that I got from a lfs. :D they're looking good.

some nice new additions there, well done and lets hope they settle in without any probs :good:

how much are regular rajas worth?? I'm bidding on 5 of them and the prices went past $20 already

It's not about the worth, it's about how much you want them, and how much you like them. However, I happen to know the lady you're getting them from is the fish supplier from the Internation Anabantoid Association.

you can base your worth off of what you're bidding on off of their prices :p http://www.internat-anabanassoc.org/stock_for_sale.htm

So, these are seriously giants? Wow. I'd like to see a size comparason. Not to say that your wrong, but I want to see how big a giant is compared to a normal betta. :)

It's not that they're giants per se, just that fuscas in comparison to splendens are giants, I've seen some upwards of 6 inches. :)

Lol, yeah, these totally aren't splendens giants. The IBC page for fuscas says they reach 8.2cm (a little over 3"), and it doesn't say for the rajas, but like Bettabelieveit said, they get quite a bit larger.

They've coloured up a bit more today, and I'm pretty sure the one I had previously is a raja rather than a fusca. He looks identical to the new rajas and has been pestering the other raja in the 29 gallon and pretty much ignoring the fuscas

What is a giant Betta??
I have a regualer Betta Splenden but he is over double the size a Betta is supposed to be and he is still growing ??? I am beginning to think that he will grow and grow just like a goldfish!! He is over a year old now I bought him from a pet store he was tiny then they said he was about 3 months when I bought him, and personality or attitude to boot just wondering though what is the difference
