I'm fascinated by these fish when I see them ands wonder what they are like to keep

are they an interesting fish to keep

do they have any special requiremnst bar a big tank

do they have as much character as say an oscar?

cheers simon

I love these fish. their fantastic fish and very friendly.
But nightmare to care for unless (as u know) you have a large tank and filtration.

If it's a mixed tank get them last of all and small. As if they grow up and live fine with them.

I've seen them living with small fish as these don't bother them as they don't usually eat small fish.

Still if u have the system for these go for it.

Here is a picture of mine (24cm)... It is a available for free to anyone who can collect... I've removed it from my Oscar tank as it was really intimidating an Albino Oscar (12") to the extent that the Oscar had no more scales left on one side of the body and was in constant hiding... The GG is currently in an outside pond with my Convicts.
