Getting Shock From Aquarium

I put my thumb in my water storage tub I use for water changes and I got a mild pain/shock. So im thinking faulty heaters, sure enough when I unplug the heaters I got no shock. Weird thing is an hour later I test it and no shock...heaters still on.

What could cause this?

Sounds like you need to find a local P.A.T. qualified person to test you complete tank electrics setup

Yes i had the same problem a few years back,glass had broke around the top of the heater tube,so good mind took me weeks to find it...i used to think it was just me,you know when you get a papercut and sometimes the water gives that feeling...my fish were fine,lasted around a month and a half,bizarrely the elecrtics didnt short either..

I wouldn't bother with finding a guy to PAT test anything. Just inspect the equipment yourself. Its most probably the heater, is it old?

Usually the heater is the culprit when you put your hand into the water and get a tingle of a small shock. Unplug your heater(s) and inspect them for cracks or other signs of damage and replace the heater(s) that are bad.

I had it myself not long ago. Turned out to be my second filter.
