I hate my tank lid. It just looks rubbish. I love the open top tank look and want to look at getting a clip on light for the tank rather than the in-hood one I have just now.

Thing is, if I do, how do I hide all the wires coming out from the top of the tank? Is there a way or do I just have to live with it?

If you have an internal filter and heater then you kind of have to live with it but you can buy aquarium plain backing which a lot of people use, even the frosted white ones help a little.

some eheim external filters have heaters in them so all you'll have to see is the down pipe in then the inlet back to the tank. think thats the minimum anyone has to put up with. unless you set up a sump tank.

Background and a cable tie, makes sure that the cables stay in one place, and run down behind the background.

If you want a background but not an internal nor paper one you can get rolls of sticky vinyl in a multitude of colours on Ebay . All sorts of sizes and easy enough to stick on with care .
