A YEAR  :X !

I Didn't know it would take that long, when I set up my other tank, it cleared up within about a month max. But as you mentioned earlier it depends on the age of the wood right! I'm just prayin that this is old wood! Is there any way to tell?
wee if it looks fairly red when scrubbed or scratched then its a fresh piece.
if it was dry but fairly heavy chances are fresh piece .
if the tannin is quite dark in your tank and it coloured your water quickly iys a newy too . im outa here on this 1 now ..good luck im in emergency now .tank rebuild time.

Thanks for your help squid- sounds like it's a fresh peice :-(

Maybe they should invent another water treatment called tanout - tannin ----> tannout get it!!
