"No one is a failure unless you try"
It's best to have a fish's long term home set up, I think, because a lot of people just keep putting off upgrading the tank until they forget about it entirely... I assure you that I have no plans of doing that. I'm in the market for a 100 gallon for the oscars right now, which I will buy THE SECOND one turns up (assuming it isn't grotesquely overpriced,) and if I can't find one soon, I'm going to have my LFS order one in for me. After that, I need a little time to save up and work out where I'm going to put all these tanks before I pick up Antoine's permanent home... the 29 gallon will be fine for him for many more months still.nc_nutcase said:if they're moving they're probably having a sale on aquariums as well... get em while the gettins good!
Also when reading this initial post on this thread it was screaming in my head "Don't buy fish until you have their long term homoe set up!!!" I just posted something about that in the New World Cichlid forum. It's easy to do, I've done it, I'll prolly do it again. But! it is best to have the home for the fish before we buy them. Now do what all young americans do when they need cash quick, steal something!
Believe me, I would rather give him back to the pet shop yet again than have him live in too small a home... that is, after all, the reason I gave him back this time. I figured out a way to make things work, though, and I'd prefer that he live with me and eventually get the tank he needs rather than go home with some know-nothing who plops him in a 10 gallon
Edit: Oh and no... sadly, the aquariums aren't for sale. Only the fish
