Getting A 20-30 Gallon Need Advice

First off can cichlids be with community fish or just with other cichlids?
Can Semi aggressive fish be with other semi aggressive fish (cichlids)?
I have teras now, could they work with the cichlids?

There are several small species of SA cichlids that can be kept in a community set-up like Apistos (20+ gallons), Rams (20+ gallons), and Keyholes (30+ gallons) for example.

Some fish are labeled semi-aggressive because they are aggressive towards their own species, while others are just nasty to everyone. Thus do your research on the individual fish as always.

Tetras and "peaceful" cichlids can be kept together.

Please note that when breeding most species of cichlid will become more aggressive and territorial in an effort to protect their eggs and fry.
