George, that is just beautiful. And that glosso has really taken off... you can't see the substrate at all! I'm sure it was worth painstaking planting each plantlet. I can't get over how big that java is - with no bad leaves. Just goes to show that having all the lights, nutrients and co2 really pays off!

p.s. did placing the pvc piping (i think that's what you used) around the glosso help to contain it in one area?

Can you let mw know what the low growing plant is that you have covering the floor of the tank. I've been looking for something just like that as my substrate is bare

Also if anyone knows where to get it in the Uk I would be most grateful

Glossostigma elantinoides. It needs plenty of light, CO2 and nutrients. I would recommend around 3 Watts per Gallon of decent fluorescent light with good reflectors, 25-35ppm stable CO2, nutrient-rich substrate and water. If any one of these components are weak then it will not carpet, it may grow upwards though as it is a stem plant.
