Yeah in all honesty the fry wouldn't of lasted more that 5 mins on tank with Oscar !! Which is growing rapid now !! How's yours doing ??

He's doing hungrily (is that even a word?! ) Always hungry and don't see eye to eye with the green sev.

He's growing nicely though, starting to resemble an Oscar now rather than just another fish.

Mines at 3 1/2 4 " now no what your saying about hungry !! Suprising what they can fit on there mouth !!! Mines not very colorful though !! All other fish are cool , water is good , feeding a varied diet ? Just a very dark fish ??!

Try and get a picture. There are a few different colour variants.

When i purchased mine i noticed that the majority of them had sunken bellies, and the one i picked didn't. Mine was also the darkest out of the bunch which is what also drew me to him (or her!!) but he doesn't have as much red on him as the others in the shop did... But i went for what seemed like healthiest one there. Paid £6 for him so i am extremely happy.

He is quite capable of fitting half an algae tablet in his mouth now... although it does take him a while TO CHUCK IT OUT OF HIS GILLS AND FILL THE WATER WITH IT the scruffy bleeder Currently feeding on a mix of Tetra Prima, Hikari Gold pellets and a mixture of frozen foods.

Food wise pretty much the same as that ! Apart from hilarious gold !! Don't they just love bloodworms !!
Am realy happy moving to cichlids , they so much more enjoyable , always on the move !! Make sense
Ps .. The odd earthworm , hang it in tank and hold on lol tug of war !!!

Great news!!!! They do move them a fair few times mate, so keep your eyes peeled.

We now have free swimming fry !!! Shame my other tank is no where near cycled ! Think I'm just gonna let nature take it's cause this time round , and next time be ready !!!

You could take a chunk of sponge from your filter and put it in the other tank, then put some tank water in from you current tank, make sure temperatures and ph are as close as you can get then put them in their.

Have swapped a bit of media round , the ph would be the problem ! It's about 6 in tank at moment , other tank will be 7.5 ish !!

Well have moved 75% of the fry to smaller tank, used tank water some media from filter , and substrate , !!!
Any ideas on best way of feeding ? How often ??

I would be feeding them fine BBS and crushed Prima probably 4 or 5 times a day. 10-20% water change daily.

It is just fry yeah , still a few left in main tank with parents
