Geophagus Brasiliensis (species Tank)

Ive found a pair of these in my LFS and the male is easily 9" and has a huge nuchal hump.
ive got a big empty tank and im wondering how to make the perfect geophagus tank.

So can i have plants ?

Rocks? wood?

lets hear some ideas =)

also im wondering on weather i could have any tankmates?

Catfishes ?

Ditherfish ?

or what

or is it better off to leave them to it?
