General Angel Qs.

two females would be fine, although even if you did end up with a M/F there is no guarantee that they will pair

you may get an initial scuffle for dominancy but usually nothing more,

Hmm..OK thanks.

Can you recommend anyone or anywhere that I can get a Bolivian or German ram?

D.

local LFS should have them
I was there today, didn't see any, and I had an extensive look, as I was noting down the names of the ones I liked, to do some research before I bought, and how they would fit into my tank.

Anyone particularly noted for their rams? Any where near Milton Keynes that you know sell them?

Thanks, D.

Most lfs can special order fish if you ask. Bolivian rams are more hardy. A lot of people says german rams are sensitive to water quality and get stressed for no reason. German rams are much more colorful though. I had a male and female and the male bothered her at first but then they became a pair. He died not to long ago, I'm still not sure why he was stressed. The female is fine though.

As for angels, there is a smaller variety called Pterophyllum leopoldi. They are smaller than scalare (the most common). Certainly more rare and costly. I haven't seen one in a lfs however.

Angels should be kept 1, 2 (a pair), or 5/6+. A pair is likely to bully an odd man out (if there is three).
