Galaxy Rasbora Or Lemon Tetras?

Hi I have just been reading through this thread with great interest, I had 14 Lemon Tetras in a 95ltr/20gallon tank, they were amazing to watch, I had a lot of males in the shoal which was even more interesting, there was never any real aggression between them, just lots of twisting and turning and displaying to each other which was great to watch, they also coloured up really nicely as well, when they shoal up they would shoal up really tightly and swim from one area to the next, really impressive
:fish: :fish: :fish:

I haven`t given any thought to the possibility of any bigger fish to be honest as I didn`t think I`d have room and wasn`t sure how my others would be.
What do you class as bigger though? The 'general' layout of a balanced tank is a couple of larger centerpiece fish surrounded by dithers (mid water shoalers) and bottom feeders.
The larger fish we've suggested are only 10-12cm ish... that's not really very big... especially in a 350l tank. Do you have the tank yet? Perhaps you're not picturing how big it'll be..?

I do have the tank already, I`ve got the sand and a couple of plants in there at the mo but can`t fill with water til the date given by the manufacturer.....tomorrow!! :D :D I think you`re right, I`m maybe just not picturing how big it will be. The thought of 'big fish' kinda bothers me because I don`t want anything that could be aggressive towards my others.....daft maybe

I`ve just googled for golden dwarf acara but can`t actually find anything.......probably just me but all I can find are jewels and blues :look:

Nannacara anomala, you should find by googling that.

Just found them, thank you. My initial thoughts are that they`re similar to the Apistos.....but with a bigger dorsal fin

Thanks kiriyama.....you`ve just completely thrown me now :shout:

I`ve just seen a new members photos on the forum and was wondering if Rainbow Cichlids would be a viable option for my tank?

Apparently "It is easy to house because it does not get to a large size, and being peaceful it can be kept with regular tropical fish, much like Discus and German Rams"?

Have you lokoed into Aequidens curviceps? :#

I'll happily have another google and see what I can find on them, thanks.

Just realized that Curiosity said RC's aren't do-able so that idea is out the window.........who'd have thought it would be so difficult to choose??? Maybe I'm just too fussy?.......nahhh couldn't be!

Just to say the only reason I said that was because you'll already have 6-7 cichlids in the lower levels of the tank. Even peacful cichlids dont like being crowded. So although it may work (and tbh is worth trying if you can return the fish if it doesn't work out), it's by no means definitely going to work.

I`m probably going to be returning 2 of the Apisto females back to the lfs but won`t make any final decisions until all of the fish have settled into the new tank. B-)

The easy option is to up the numbers of what I have already but I`ll have to see how the tank looks before even doing that. There`s going to be so much more room for my fish that they`ll be wondering what to do with it all :D

I`ve spoken to the guys at my lfs and I`ll be returning 2 of the Apistos females to them this week.

If those are gone from the tank, would the Rainbow Cichlid be a viable option?
After doing a bit of reading on them, apparently the RC is pretty placid and gets on with most other community fish.

Would it be better to have just 1? If so, male or female? Or should they be kept in pairs?

I did up the numbers on my neons from 2 to 6 and Harlequins from 5 to 6. B-)
