Swiming in a pond. ...no, not really.
I was sitting down in my room, where I keep my fish, and I see one of my girls jump out of the water and land on the floor. I got her right back into the tank, but now I'm scared it'll happen again. Umi is doing alright, no stress lines or anything, but still.

Now I have another problem. Lita, the dark body/red finned VT keeps getting stuck on the intake of my filter. The intake is basically a slitted section of the cylindracal filter. I'm worried, because she never seems to free herself and I keep having to dislodge her. Last resort, I'll have to make a box around the filter so she can't get near it.

ONE LAST THING. I was going to buy the steel blue CT at the pet store I mentioned in the other thread. Well, I was in there yesterday, and I notice he had a horrid case of velvet and was laying on his side. Poor baby! I noticed he was still breathing, and mentioned it to the assistant at the counter. He just put in a drop or so of Betafix and walked away. ...now I'm pissed... Well, I was wondering if I should just get him anyway, and treat him myself.

What about putting a lid on?

get some mosquito netting and put that over the tanks.
Put a round filter sponge over the intake of your filter to stop the fish gettng sucked up. If you can't get a round sponge get a rectangular piece of filter sponge and wrap it around the intake. Hold it in place with a rubber band.
