I guess either I finally found where they hide previous to being a snack, or one of my larger girls gave birth, but I've found 25 fry in the past two days! They are all adorable and speckled and are currently being housed in a 5 gallon kritter keeper (talk about overstocked tank). I think this'll be my last batch the save for a while... after this, I'm catching the males and they can live in the 5 gallon for a little while- give the poor girls a break!

Congratulations! I'm sure the girls will appreciate a little break, even though they'll still be having fry for a good while. :)

yeah, BUT the boys won't be bugging them constantly. one of the boys will be going to the LFS when the first batch of fry are old enough. let me charge the batteries and i'll get pix tonight ;)

Ok- pix (I already had charged batteries waiting on me :) )

Oh, and they are mollies.

Here's the pix:

This is their tank. A cozy little 5 gallon on my desk :D I was horrified hubby was going to be mad I bought it today, but he likes it :)

And here's the babies. Sorry you can see what was on the desk too  I keep forgetting about that.

The tank they are in is a mini-main tank :) I took gravel, water, plants and decorations from the pre-cycled 75 gallon. I'm praying it won't mean a horrid cycle with all these lil dudes in that tank together.

Thats a cute little tank you got there.... not to mention cute little fry babies!

another picture. they are much easier to take pix of when there is food in the tank :) here's a picture comparing all 4 sizes of kiddos in the tank.

the largest are about a quarter of an inch long, the smallest are about, oh, less than half the size of the big ones? (and sooo tiny!) ... and "little black" is the mystery fry. no idea where she came from, or who she belongs to. I honestly thought she was a tadpole when I found her.... but I have no frogs :)

Oh my goodness! How precious! And way to go getting such a great shot with the different ages! :hyper:

Little black is the black sheep of the family then?

So adorable, thanks for sharing! :good:
