I think I need a better camera as everytime I've tried taking pics of my fish they have been really really rubbish! I've had a few suggestions as to what they might be but when they're this small you cant really tell! All I know is that they wag they're tails like a dog! and are very active at the mo!

My fry on the other hand well who knows how long they'll take to grow up then again they're only a week to two weeks old at the mo so I'm not expecting much change in them!

Wagtails? I don't understand that. I'm guessing you don't mean wagtails as in Livebearer coloring?

Once they get to a couple month, then they really start changing as they get more and more coloring and markings.

My plecs kind of wag their tails when they are stationary its really weird its like a dog wagging its tail to watch!

My platy fry are starting to show a little bit of colouring some are getting the black stripes on the tails like their mom! They are already a really pale yellow colour so I don't expect that colour to change much except maybe get a bit darker and some might develop some orange in their finage!

Sorry to have confused you with the wag tail part! I'm a bit tired with it being a monday! Thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it

Ooooh, I know what you mean now. My BN does that.

That's so exciting! My Platies are getting stripes now, and darker fins. They are barely 2 weeks old now. Fast growers.

I cant wait to see mine develop further! Its been years since I've kept platies so it seems to take longer for them to grow than what I remember! Then again I used to raise mine in breeding traps as didnt have a spare tank at the time!

Don't you find it strange how the female can drop all her babies and slim down and yet over night she just develops a huge belly again?


Just thought if your BN does that then it does point the finger slightly closer to mine being BN someone showed me a pic of an adult and I thought it looked ugly but I'm starting to adjust to the thought of having one! How long did it take yours to get to adulthood (pressuming you had it from being young) Also how long have you had him?

Awww, I love the one where he (I guess you'll hope it's a he, depending on the name!) is looking right at you. Cute colors too, my wagtail Platies are looking like that except with the black.

I don't usually name them until I know what the sex is. But She Who Must Be Obeyed wanted to!
