Betta fry needs lots of protein for growing bodies..
So the long and the short of it is no. Infact, no betta should be eatting plants as their main diet.
Microworms, or boiled egg yolk are the food of choice for betta fry.

For a few days after they have the egg sacs, I think I heard they feed off of the java moss but they die if not provided a new food source soon.

It's not the plants that the fry eat. It's the infusoria...tiny microorganisms on the plants, that the fry can eat. Only good for a couple days. They should really have food high in protein. Preferably live foods like microworms and vinegar eels.

Yes I agree! And be cautious that they may not eat the egg yolk so don't rely on it (plus it will foul your water very quickly). They are typically more attracted to moving things and vinegar eels or microworms are perfect because they are just tiny enough for them to snatch right up. If you would like, I am selling some of my live microworm culture kits for $5.00 (shipping is on me) if you are in the states. They are all ready to be shipped as needed. Just let me know! :good:

im good with food i have a microworms and brine shrimp just hatched yesterday. i was just curius about the plants and if it was a good idea. :) thanks for all the replies i definitely will stick with the food sources i have
