I ordered some plants from Pro Shrimp and their delivery was very efficient and it came this afternoon which is one of the few afternoons this year I have been out lol....

The plants were outside for around 2-3 hours based on the delivery message I got. They were wrapped in bubble wrap but they did feel cold, I had 6 pots in total - 4 In-Vitro and 2 potted stems. I've floated them all in the tank for now, seemed like the best thing to do? I supose they will have been in plenty of unheated areas in transit, back of a van, mail sorting etc so I suppose its not unheard of?

What do you think my chances are?

If they were cold enough to freeze, any damage to the plant would be from expansion of water due to frost damaging the structure, if this has happened then it could melt back quite a bit but I'd expect it to recover

When water freezes in a plant the cell walls are destroyed or badly damaged. If there is enough damage the plant will die. That is why many trees and shuts drop their leave in the fall. They will not survive the freezing temperatures of the winter. The bark is much less susceptible to frost damage and will survive.

Will your plants recover? Maybe, maybe not. It depends on how bad the damage is. Who was the supper? we don't want to use them if they don't take adequate precautions for cold weather. A good supper will use well insulated boxes with 1 or 2 day delivery only. Or they will not ship until the weather warms.

Thanks guys :)

I dont think anything was frozen but it was only 1-2 C. I'm a little more hopeful as the Rotala Indica that I put in is pearling already so taking that as a sign.

The store was a UK supplier called Pro Shrimp but in fairness to them I got notifications of when it was going to arrive I just couldnt change it which was a bit disapointing but I've used a few UK suppliers for plants and aquascaping and I do like Pro Shrimp, they have good stock levels and good choice of plants and they were all wrapped in bubble wrap which I think has helped. But I agree a polybox would have been a better choice for this time of year.

Will see how I get on, setting up the new scape tomorrow.
