Just started using san fransisco bay brine shrimp as a treat twice a week for my tetras and have just been dropping the frozen tablet into the aquarium. But have noticed the water gets cloudy, is there a way to prepare this food without it clouding up the water or is dropping in the whole thing OK.

I feed frozen food by taking some tank water into a small glass container and then putting the food block into the container. Once it has thawed, you can run it through a net to leave the water behind and just put the food into the tank. In my case I walk around putting a little of the food into each tank because I do not have enough fish in one tank to feed the whole cube at once. Your water may be getting cloudy just because you need to feed less. The cubes of food can be easily broken using an ice pick to make whatever size you need.

Hi Kev,

As Oldman says, the likely cause of the cloudiness is overfeeding. Have you noticed if there is any food left over in the tank after the fish stop eating?

BTT :good:
