This makes the running total of broken glass ceramic diffusers to 6.When I renew the yeast mix occasionally some of the yeast goes into the diffuser, then I have to put it in hot water so all the air comes out and water goes in.Once it's filled I shake it and hold my thumb over the top (broke 2 by doing this) then jerk the yeasty water out, in which I have now broken 3 because they slip out of my fingers  The other was broken down to pure dumbness
Can anyone beat my record, between 3 tanks? :shout:  £30 wasted in total.

Nope, but I can suggest trying plastic diffusers for you than glass ones lol. We use the nutrafin natural plant system, which works great for our plants and have never had a problem. And I would try using luke warm water instead of hot, as this will help you to not get yeast going into your tank.

lol I have like 10 ladders but they're not as effective and are way too big, for me at least...I'm lazy and always do the mix differently. :S The tanks are 8, 10, and 20 gallons.
Anyone got ideas for an indestructible diffuser? :D

If you've got a canister filter, just run your CO2 into the intake. Done.

However with tanks that small, you probably won't have one. I can't think of anything more indestructible than a ladder, but as you've said they're big and ugly.

You could buy a bunch of these little nano ones, here. They are only a dollar each and S+H is about $6 add $3 for each additional one. So 6 would be $27 or £13.5. I've bought one of these from this seller along with a bunch of other stuff. I haven't used it yet , I could hook it up to my pressurized CO2 and see how it works if you want me too.

Yeah, I'm great at breaking diffusers too. Now I buy the cheapos from ebay - got 4 for just over a tenner including delivery. Doesn't make it quite as annoying when they get broken!

All you butter handed people out there lol.

I didn't know glass breaks :hyper:

And believe me I give it some oomph when I'm pushing hoses onto lilys and the old rhinox. dropped the DC on the floor a fair few times too (laminate floor) and then kicked it alon by accident too.

If your wives/girlfriends have a nice body I will offer to swap hands for glass object handling nights!!

Lol actually i'm not really heavy handed with anything else.Your glass must be better  ...I hope.

I broke a glass check valve several months back. It was great untill the blood started gushing...

I want rid of my diffuser. I just want an external reactor and I'll be happy (more or less!)

I managed to cut myself before with them aswell, i'm always cutting myself with things (no, i'm not emo  ).
Just ordered 6 for £12, so I should have two spare if any break, well 1 if I get around it setting my other 8 gal up (was going great until mum decided to move tropical fish and ecocomplete into the 2ft goldfish tank, when I wasn't there, ohh that was a dumb moment)

I've actually broken 2 just pulling the tubing off, they must be really fragile on that particular area or they've become glued on LOL

You must always hold the pipe on the diffusor when removing the hose. People often break them because they hold the cup/pipe joint and then the pipe snaps off.
