Hi again! heres a question for you all: do bigger sized tetras eat smaller ones? cuz im wonderin.... thnx! -heart  , ally86ozzy

It depends on what kind you choose as far as how many you can get, also it depends upon whether they will be the only fish or not. For small fish like guppies and tetras, the inch per gallon rule should suffice. You could probably have 10 inches of fish so maybe 5 neons and 2-3 guppies. Or, if you want bigger tetras you may want to just do 5-6 of one species. I think this is why rockinurworld said you could only have one, because tetras like to be in schools, so by the time you get one school in your tank, there's not really room for much else.

As far as I know, most tetras will breed if you try, but I'm not really sure how to create a breeding environment for tetras. I know they are egg-layers, but other than that I'm not much help in that department. Also, it seems that most tetras are rather difficult to sex unless they are breeding.

Good luck with your new tank!

i only hav one guppy currently and dont wana put him with other guppies (for reasons u dont need 2 kno, but if u PM me and sware not to tell ill tell u) and my bro said he wont school w/ the tetras he'll keep 2 himself, but i dont want him 2 B lonly anyways. Im probably gonna get 5 neon tetras, put my guppy with them, and get 1 cardinal tetra (this is an experiment, i wana see if he'll school with the other tetra, cuz neons and cardinals look a little alike). So this will be my tank setup. will it work? -heart  , ally86ozzy
