We've all heard of Marine 'clean-up crews' but is there any thing that will do the same job in a freshwater community tank which does not need dry land?

How many gallon is the tank, plecs suck on the glass, strimp, snails, corys but they hover on the bottom, don't think there is much that don't need to go on the bottom.

240 Litres (55 gal) I have two Plecs but I was thinking about something like shrimp or crabs, although I had two crabs and they got out of teh tank, didn't know they needed land.

I see you mean land on the outside thought you meant in the tank, lol, corys are nice and very entertaining little things they eat all the left over food on the bottom.

I love my loaches. I never knew how fun it would be to watch these loaches play around with each other. Also, in tune with what you are saying. I vaccumed my tank and did a water change a minutes ago, there was no food to vaccum up thos eloaches clean everything :) I found my niche' with loaches. I liek tose dogo loaches but am afraid they would not get along with the clowns. Maybe with a bigger tank.

Sorry jsut wanted to add a little here :)

You can put crayfish in your tank. They search the bottom for food but can grad small fish too. They can be very attractive, i like the blue ones. I think there is a picture of one in the fish picture section or reptile section. They need no land in the tank unlik crabs who actually need land. Good Luck!!

Had two of them, got rid. I want something such as shrimp, crayfish or crabs, not too big, which don't need to ever come out of teh water and can live with Discus.

If you have any small fish like tetras or rasboras, steer clear of the crawfish. Once they get a little size on them, you will start to see your small fish disappear, especially at night. Crawfish will just lay on the bottom after the lights go out and wait on an unsespecting fish to come by.
