Hi Forum

Quick question and a bit of a noob question even though I have kept fish for a few years.

Bought some intrepet freeze dried daphnia the other day as rare treats for my fish but it doesn't say how to feed it. do i just added it to the tank as i would with flake food? or does it need preparing as it looks like it will gunk up the water?

thanks

It's probably not the biggest issue to concern yourself with, but I've always liked to let the freeze dried food sit in a cup of tank water for a minute or three to let it at least partially re-hydrate. That way if some piggly little fish gobbles it up too quickly, it doesn't rehydrate in the stomach. That said, fish can and do vomit if problems arise, and the stomach is a pretty flexible organ, so like I said, it isn't the biggest thing to worry about.
