Found Some Eggs

Just finished doing my weekly water change when I found some eggs on top of the algae magnet which is pretty high up the tank almost near the top... Firstly these eggs are brown so am I right in guessing there dead ?? secondly what fish could have put them there ?? I only have Rummies, Sterbai & Otto with the temp being 26-27
