My local LFS doesnt sell assassin snails (This makes me very angry because it was on plants from their store that my tanks were invested with other snails in the first place)

Anyways, I was with my bf and we went for a 45 min drive to a mall he really wanted to go to and I came upon a pet shop in the mall. I was expecting the worst because it's a mall pet shop, but they had assassin snails for sale, and all their fish seemed good - not quite proper conditions, but better than my local LFS.

ANYWAYS
I FINIALLY GOT ASSASSIN SNAILS!!! I'm so happy
If only this store wasn't so blinking far away I'd go there for everything fish related!

Just thought everyone should know lol

Assassin snails will eat the larger snails, but will ignore the baby ones.
Glad you managed to find some though

Assassin snails are awesome. I had a big snail infestation, and I bought three on eBay after reading about them. Since then the pest snails have been virtually eliminated, to the point where I no longer see them. I've never seen the assassins take any interest in plants, they spend most of their time digging through substrate. They've also bred, which is nice

Ahh right cool i take it they breed alot slower than the usual suspects i think i'll invest in one as long as they dont get out the tank and shoot at neightbours from behind the nets

Yes, much slower - I've only seen two baby ones. Beauty of it is you can sell them on when they mature

I think Assassins only lay one egg per month and they are usually eaten before they can hatch, hence the limited availability of them

I am being overrun by assassins. They lay lots of eggs, I have a tank with 100s of eggs from fewer than 6 snails. I started with under a dozen in two tanks and now have 100s. I have to harvest nuisance snails from pleco breeding and growout tanks to feed the assassins.

The babies like to disappear into the substrate for safety, so you may not know you have them for some time.
