I certainly am not in need, but feel like taking these home, just to make it more difficult for someone to put fish in these...

Yes, please take them. What you are doing is humane. Those things are unheated, concentration camps. And the double tanks is absolutely sickening. The idea behind those is the two males will flare and be under constant stress. It is disgusting. The single ones are fine for briefly displaying a betta during a show but not for long-term housing. Grab 'em and run. You can use them for plant propagation.

They're good for holding fish for transfer, much like glass jars are...

I got both of them... , I may just throw them away, not sure if there is anything in either kit, that would be useful for anything... maybe holding some sort of live food??? but I think they are even to small for that...
