Im currently feeding my betta who is between a juvenile and an adult... live blackworms, frozen bloodworms and freeze dried bloodworms... is this bad for him? ive been feeding blackworms practically everyday, as he refused the pellets and freeze dried brine shrimp...
give me your opinions please..
thx

Blackworms may be the very best food possible for Bettas. Bloodworms are very good also. If anything, the betta might need a bit of vegatation to help the digestive system...Fiber ;) Maybe try some betta flake food, or a cooked pea once a week if they will not eat the flakes.

I'd cut out the freeze dried if possible, there are so many better alternatives and dried foods can mess up their digestive system. I give my juvis live blackworms, frozen bloodworms, frozen brine shrimp and the occassional live brine shrimp when my LFS gets them in (and I get there in time to buy some as they sell out real quick). Then occassionally they also get some small pellets such as HBH Betta Bites, they don't get nearly as excited about that, but when there are over 100 juvis in the tank, the competition gets the best of them and they eat it, Lol. Hunger is also another good way to get them to eat the dry food.

it's funny how divided the community is on the subject of black worms, marianne can't stand them and will not use them in her breeding programs. actually from what i've heard, lately she is using frozen food with her spawns almost exclusively.

its alright i have 2 who cant eat the normal sized hbh pellets as they choke on them :dunno: so i give them the baby hbh pellets like 2 times a week and the rest of the time ( like 1 feeding a day cuz i give them quite a bit at once) frozen blood worms cuz my fishy boy cant digest anything else... o and hes still hiding and i still odnt know whats wrong
