I saw an aquarium with a thick layer of fog on the water at the pet store and thought it would look cool in my 55g. The pet store had some kind of aquatic amphibian in it, but I was wondering if anyone has tried this in a fish aquarium? Thanks!

PS-I asked and the guy said they used this machine: http://www.exo-terra.com/en/products/fogger.php Any experience with this?

This wouldn't work underwater I wouldn't think?

I think its more have your fish tank half full and have the machine just above it so it has a fog layer ontop of the water.

My LFS has this as well. All it's doing is creating water vapor in the air so as long as the water you use in is dechlorinanted in should be fine. The fog machine is almost certain to make mold in places though.
