Oh btw, if you use the bottom output nozzle that you got with your filter on the top output hole you won't get bubbles.

Like Ianho said once the swords leaves brown they will never return, best to take the leaf off at that point. I had a lot of browning leaves initially for me an maybe a month down the line they no longer do it.

Thanks everyone. I need a new plant for the front where the grass is. It's basicalluy dead so I think I'm gonna go to LFS at the weekend and see what they've got.

I'd recommend a crypt of some sort Caz. They would be better suited to your tank.

Thanks :)

Just to check, when you sau cut at the base do you mean of the leaf or the actual stalk?

Right at the base of the stalk as close to the substrate as pos.

Lol thanks, prob a stupid question I know.

Josh don't you find the bottom one messes with your sand?

Direct the output elsewhere, I find my corys ruin my sand the most, they shift all the sand from one side of hte tank to the other. Its fun watching them because as soon as I put another handful of sand in the corner they go at it like a pack of wolves and insist on moving it.

I have had similar problems when ordering plants online but the amount you get pays off. In my area there is possibly one LFS which stocks and looks after plants properly. Never sells you non aquatic plants they use CO2 injection etc a full on fire extinguisher sized tank above the plants. However a lot of the plants are just left to die after some time, and they rarely restock with tropica.

Expensive prices are offputting I have found it easier to just buy a bunch of them online and specify what you want and maybe only risk £5 for 30/40 plants where as from my LFS one plant costs about £7

Its well worth it with potted plants though, ok so plants like swords only come in ones, but my hygrophila, ludwigia etc there were loads of stems and the plants will be healthy and therefore quickly grow. Less chance they will die especially if its a nice 'show' plant, worth it imo.
