I was in A5 aquatics the other day with my older bro and spotted some rather nice looking bits of wood, I had being thinking of a rescape for some time so i was sold.
Saturday night roles up and the girlfriend is of out on a late shift (bloody nurses)
The wood is in the bath soaking in red hot water to remove some of the tannins.
lets get rescaping then.

1st the fish were took out a put in a holding tank,
next the plants were took out, trimmed and put to one side
top layer of gravel and bottom layer of complete substrate were seperated (that took for every)
then got to the fun bit. got all the wood were i wanted it to be
relayed all the substrate and gravel
replanted
filled her up and then re added the inhabitants.

The water is a little bit cloudy still as its only being a few hours but really wanted to take a vid.

so Here she is

Still got a lot of moss to take out of my other tank. Would love to rap most of the exposed wood in moss, more anubis and some jarva moss.
all comments and posts welcome.

Inhabitants as it stands at the moment are
+20 Galaxy Rasboras
lots of Amano Shrimp
3 Assassin Snails
1 Golden Apple snail

I am going to slowly up the number of the Galaxies as they are breath taking
Wouldn't mind a suggestion for a centerpiece fish(s)

That looks great mate, think i might get some wood myself one day.

Know what you mean about the Galaxys too, i have 16 at the moment and want more!

Not sure about a center piece fish for you. You will have to be careful due to the Galaxys small size, but i have a Dwarf Gourami in mine with no issues at all, and some of my Galaxys are tiny tiny tiny mate

Thank you very much.
I am thinking maybe about adding a few chocolate gourami maybe 5 or 6 and then something special as a centerpiece,
I really just dont want something that is going to take a fancie to crypts that i have.
I had a good sized shoal of Neon dwaf Blue rainbow fish but they had a right taste for the crypts ( they have gone to my bros tank now in with his Tangs.)

All ideas welcome

Phase 2 is under way. A trip to my LFS today on my lunch hour (time well spent i would say)
There was a deal on 3 plants for 2 in the gold potted section (the better quality ones) so i helped my self to some Anubis as the ones they had were in perfect condition with good sized and shaped leaves.

I also trimmed some moss from my little tank and have began to rap some of the bits of wood in it. I also added 12 or so crystal cherrys from my little tank.
Well any way here is another little video for your viewing pleasure :hyper:

Again all comments and ideas welcome

Added a lovely pair of firemouths to the tank yesterday only about 2" at the moment but have some lovely colours on them already. Will add some pics over the weekend when they have settled in

So as promised here is a pic and video of the new inhabitants

Sorry about the poor quality, they were took were on my iphone.

Both the firemouths have settled in although one is slightly shyer then the other. You will catch (i think it is a her) right at the end of the vid in between then wood.

Still trying to think of a second shoal of fish to add.
Any ideas peeps,
Also going to add a HC carpet as soon as my LFS gets some in :hyper:
cheers.
