I have a fluval 206, I am currently using the edge pre filter.
It does its job by not letting my shrimps getting sucked up. But man do they suck on maintaining. It takes about 2 days for the sponge filter to get clogged and it cause the flow to drastically  restricted. Would any body here recommend me a sponge filter that is a little bit bigger and will not get clogged. I have a planted tank and I want to put my rotalla there to block it. But I have to keep taking that prefilter and clean it to resume flow. I need a pre filter that will fit the inlet tube and will black out invertebrates.
Thanks in advance!:)

What you can do is buy some more "open" (either coarser pored or thinner) foam in sheet form cut it to size, wrap it around the intake strainer with a little overlap and secure with a couple of rubber bands top and bottom.

Get the ATI Filter Max #3.

I have been using these pre-filter for well over a decade. They come with an assortment of adapers and connectors. I use them on canisters and power heads. I rinse them weekly.
I buy them here http://www.kensfish.com/aquarium-supplies/aquarium-filters/ati-filter-max-3.html

Thanks for the response. I do have one note question. Can I buy just the #3 spongr without the adapter? And will it slipp over the intake snuggly? I like my tank looking stock as possible lol.a clean look. I am trying to put my rotalla over there so I can hide it

The supply of hardware that comes with the unit allows you to configure it without bends if that is what you want. I find having the sponge horizontal and lower down makes it easier to hide.
