hello,
i am thinking of buying an fx5 and am wondering if anyone out there has any experience, good or bad?
my tank is 450lts with an internal and external filter. the plan is to rip out the internal and get rid of both these filters, replacing them with the afore mentioned.
i have some fairly big waste producers(3 large bala's, 3 medium clown loach and 2 small frontosa which will become messy as they get bigger, amongst others), and feel a large filter will do the job.
i have seen these filters for £124 with free delivery online and think this is a good deal (please let me know if this is expensive).
thanks in advance,

They are excellent filters most of the fluvals are crap but to be honest the 05 range and the fx5 are good. I run to fx5`s on my tank and I have some serious waste producers and find they are brilliant I was gonna go with the pro3`s but couldnt justify the money. I don have 2 2252 eheim internals though that I use for polishing the water. Go with an fx5 mate you wont be dissapointed.

bloody good filter!!!!

one question though , is it going on a vision 450? Coz i have the vision 450 and the FX5 and u have to take the door of the cabinet to get it in.

O.K., went to my local fish shop today and the guy in charge got talking to me and we got talking about filters.
Although he was impressed with the fx5 he made a suggestion which went like this ,

buy two external filters, aTetratec EX 1200 External Filter and a ex 700. These two together would cost about the same as an fx5 but he runs his own tank on these two and cleans them alternatly so is never without a filter. also if a treatment is being added then you can run one filter with carbon which can be turned off when treatment is added.
makes sense to me but what do you think?
