Fluval External Filter Fittings

I am looking to swap a Fluval 305 for a 405 - does anyone know if the hose fittings are compatible between the two filters? I'd ideally like to plug the existing hose and media straight into the new filter.

Yes both the 305 and 405 use the same hose Hagen Fluval part number: A20015
