Fluval Edge Stocking

Hi ive got a Fluval Edge, and i stocked it last week with 4 Mollies, but ive found out that the "expert" in the shop told me 4 mollies are fine in a fluval edge but of course i did a amount of research and of course they aern't so theyve told me i can bring them back (Im gutted i love my mollies) or i may get another larger tank, i havn't decided yet. Of course i have a list of fish ive seen and like so if someone could tell me which and which are not suitable that would be great. I like
Guppies
Siamese fighter
Platties
Red Crab
Rainbow crab
Neon tetras
Silver tip tetras
Scissor tail tetras (i think these are tetras not 100% though)
Tiger barbs
Ive seen a few other i like. but i cant remeber the names (sorry) so if someone could suggest a few id be greatful aswell

Please dont have a go a me about getting mollies for my tank, im just a starter and i haven't kept fish for years, i didn't know they wern't suitable for the edge.

I wouldn't keep any of those in an edge - perhaps neons at a push but you couldn't keep a large group and they look much better in larger numbers.

Try ember tetras, or some kind of microrasbora, much smaller and more suitable.

Which size edge have you got?

One fighter would be okay. Or you could avoid fish and get dwarf aquatic frogs- they are lovely xx

Endlers are amazing little fish maybe them?

As said neons look amazing in a good size group.

definitely NOT tiger barbs. they need to be kept in a group of at least 6 to minimise aggression and need a much larger tank than a fluvel edge.

They grow to say 3/4" so around 2cm goggle a picture they are very nice

they only grow to about 2cm!! they lok great in a shoal as well. just don't add anything along with them that has a mouth big enough to swallow them!!! lol

I am having a similar fish conversation on my thread (new 20l tank)- tempted by endlers also. Does anyone on here keep/breed them? I need more info

they only grow to about 2cm!! they lok great in a shoal as well. just don't add anything along with them that has a mouth big enough to swallow them!!! lol

True I should have said they make a nice snack for anything with a big mouth

I've had endlers before, they are lovely little fish, I forgot about those. Keep all males as they are livebearers and you will be quickly overrun with fry, unless you can guarantee being able to rehome them. You could get around 7 of them.

Edges really aren't great for fighters - as surface breathing fish it's pretty unfair to keep one in a 'sealed' tank with only a small gap to find air from. Also the filter current can be too strong for them.

Could i put in say 3 Guppies and 2 Endlers? or would this not work out?

I'd just go with the endlers myself, while not strictly shoaling fish they do like company, and any aggression or dominant behaviour will be evenly spread out among the group. Two endlers might bicker. And when I kept three male guppies with no females, I called it the Ball of Fury - constantly harrassing each other day and night. And that was in 180 litres with plenty of room to hide.
