So my mrs bought herself a 19l fluval chi outta p@h. Now the light stays constantly on! I know this isn't good for my fish, it's been on for 3 days. Can't find the receipt anywhere. As the light and filter are one unit you can't choose which you want on. I'm debating setting a timer for 12 hours on an 12 off. Chances are I'll destroy any good bacteria so just wanted to run it past you guys an gals 1st.

There should be a switch at the back of the light unit, I think. I had one of these tanks. It was awful. It doesn't filter well, you can't grow anything in it, and it really is a PITA to maintain.

Think the switch could be the problem, no matter what way it is the light stays on.

Then there is a wiring issue. It should turn off. Maybe see if your store will let you do an exchange?

I had the same thing happen to mine. Go and email Fluval, they should send you a new one. I had to keep mine on about a week, but everyone was fine. I didn't want to risk losing my bacteria. Fluval was helpful and just sent me a new one, for free. They may for you too :)

Thanks McCool. Never thought of going to Fluval direct, I'll email them now.

No problem, hope it works out for you! Honestly I hated my Fluval Chi. I have the Fluval Spec V now and it's so much better.
