Fluval Chi Aquarium

I was at the pet store the other day and saw these cool looking tanks.(http/www.marineandreef.com/Fluval_Chi_5_Gallon_Aquarium_p/rhg10506.htm) Im thinking about turning it into a nano reef. It seems like it has a pretty crappy little filter on it, but i was thinking of adding a small tunze power head for circulation, and maybe making my own protein skimmer or something. For lighting, I would get a little clip on metal halide. What do you guys think?

Those have looked reasonable to me as perhaps non-reef picos (mainly due to the lighting), although the tall ones less so since it means more interference with whatever light is there reaching the bottom and less surface area for stocking. Not sure how useful the waterfall thing would be...it seems like it would block light and be a bit of a nuissance if using an additional clip-on light, which in turn seems like it would defeat the point of the tank over a more standard rectangular or cube 5-gallon.
