Fluval 57l Tank Fish Wantlist?

Hi guys

I literally have no idea how to do fish but just looking for feedback on the Fluval 57l flex tank? Is it any good?

The main thing I'm after is stocking ideas..fish I like are:

Corydora Catfish
Guppy 2 points
Tetra Neon
Tetra Penguin
Swordtail
Snail - for algae?
Molly

Do you have hard water? It suits plenty of those fish but you should search www.seriouslyfish.com and check each fish is suited to your tank size, water parameters & each other.

@essjay usually recommends checking with your water company. The number & measurement unit is important when stocking a tank to make sure your fish are suited.

Easiest way of finding out your water hardness is to go on your water providers website and look for water quality and tell us or post a screenshot of the page that has all sorts of numbers and units on it.

And we can then tell you if you have hard or soft water.

I just did a check and got this

Typical water hardness:Mod. Soft
Hardness clarke:5.53

Guessing not hard then haha

So that's 79ppm. If you check out that website it'll show what each fish needs. Cory could be ok but not a Guppy.

Also is there anything I can do to change the water hardiness so I can have guppy?

You're better matching fish to water than water to fish. Otherwise you're constantly monitoring and making adjustments

Fair enough im looking on that site and it says molly like Hardness: 15-30 dH. Is that a diff measurement?

The site is very difficult to navigate... there is something wrong with their search engine. I usually just hop over to Google. Ex. “Neon Tetra Seriously Fish” and their profile pops right up.

Molly are a hard water fish and need the tank length of 90cm

I think you've better options with soft water than hard. The search is annoying on that website so try Google "seriouslyfish + fish name".
