Fluval 305 Trouble

Hi all,I recently brought a 305 and it is now installed,it seemed to work well until 5am today when I woke up hearing it hum very loudly and the flow barely on.I turned it off fearing that it would break if I left it on(by the way there are now fish in the tank),just now I pumped it a little and turned it back on,it worked but it keeps making those little rebooting sounds,if you no what I mean,Do you think there is somthing wrong with it?

Is the seal around the lid alright? could be airs getting in so its humming.

sounds like air in there to me make sure its properly sealed

YEah. Is it tucked in all the way around?

Yes it is,but one of the hoses didn't have the little thingy that twists up propperlly attached,do you think that was it?

I brought a 205 yesterday, i found for a while it kept plowing small fine bubbles out, but i heard from someone on the forum to slowly tilt the canister from side to side forcing any small pockets of air to the top and expelled, it has completely expelled all air now and is working correctly.
If the locker nut on the aqua stop assembly is missing that could be the problem, you could try putting a jubilee clip around it or put a zip tie around it.

Sorry would just like to add a dumb question while this thread is still relatively young.To put peat in your filter, do you just remove the carbon from the filter baskets and replace with peat?
