Fluval 2Plus And Fluval 305 Spray Bar

Hi i have a few questions

Q1: Ive got a old fluval 2plus it very dirty whats the best way to clean it as i dont want to use it if it going to
make my tank bad, the reason i was going to put it in my rio 180 was just to add to the flow and maybe just fill it with
filter floss


Q2: I was in LFS and asked about a spray bar and he said this one will fit even though it was for the internal filters
it has a tube just like you gravel vac and he said it just goes on the out let, well i have no idea how, is there one that just fits the 305?

Hi there.. the only thing i can comment on is the Fluval spray bar... i have the Fluval 205 and wanted a spray bar, visited my LFS for some prices/info and he was good enough to set one up for me to show how it worked.. very, very fiddly and awkward, he said that they don't sell many, probably due to this reason... maybe someone else has one and has got on great with them, but they weren't for me.

i gave up the idea of a spray bar with my 305 external, it was fiddly and i couldnt be bothered

I wouldnt suggest putting the spraybar on the inlet lol

Ive done something similar with my Fluval, but its the U2, same thing, newer version. I had it just sat in the 4ft to be used for the hospital tank if required, but ive since removed all its media and shoved it in the top end of the external, and filled the U2 with floss, purely to keep the water uber clear. Its wont have much of an effect on water stats, but it certainly makes it look nicer!
