What's new

Flowers, flowers, flowers...

What is this one please?

It is a Passionflower. I had one of these for over 20 years growing up the front of my house, along with a Jasmine plant. I dug them out after a few years as I am really frightened of spiders. So much so I dropped into a dead feint when someone threw one at me when I was in my 20's.

After the drought we had, flowers didn't bloom that long as usual. But the past three days, we were treated to heavy rain and thunderstorms. Good thing about this is that the plants are blooming again... The water from the sky was really needed. I've watered the plants in the evening during the heatwave but that didn't help much.

I live in the woods in a very rocky area. Before I kept fish I had two small gardens despite there being 7.5 acreas of land. I also like having fresh cut flowers in the house. I was fairly limited in the area I could plant. It all had to be fenced or it was just so much lunch for the animals which lived here before we did.

But the pictures in this thread are lovely. Nice work folks.

p.s. Not long after I started putting live plants in my tanks I stopped gardening outside.

The upper pink and white is not the Bobo, just the white lower plant.

Hydrangeas were in the local news tonight. Some of the RHS collection in London are being moved to locations in Salford due to the extreme heat down south. Manc weather doing it’s part again 🌧️
