Hi Guys

I thought this might be of interest.

The Echinodorus has now flowered and the flowers are above the surface of the water. This is what they look like (spot the nosey Hatchet fish :) ):

The main plant and you can see the shoot heading up diagonally left

There are a few buds not opened yet too, so with a bit of luck there should be more to come! :good:

Cheers

Very nice, are they fully aquatic or does the blossoming flower always appear above the water surface? As if i got one, id want to see the flower below the water level.

That is really pretty, beautiful actually. Reminds me of a Phalenopsis orchid. You should follow the format in the Plant index and submit a profile for your Red Flame Echinodorus, if it hasn't been done already, which I don't think it has. Wow, runon! Second caffiene rush for the day!

Great job! Spring is in the air at TFF! Flowers are in bloom. :flowers:

How big is that plant? Can I have some information on it, stats, care, ect.?

Great job! :good:

I think the flower only appears above water.

I guess it's about 10 inches from one side to the other. It seems fairly adaptable. I've got it in a tank with 120Watts of lighting / 200 litres and CO2 injection @ about 30ppm. Water is 10KH.

I think the leaves should be flat, but for some reason all mine have gone crinkly inspite of adding ferts.

The red though is very striking in the flesh.

Cheers

Karl.
