A friend of my has a bunch of Flowerhorn fry and offered me one of them when they get old enough. I was looking them up and it seems they're pertty territorial. I have right now a Blood Parrot and a juvenile Green Terror, and am shopping around for a 75-100 gallon tank for when they get older, I was wondering would there be problems if I put a Flowerhorn in the new tank with them?

They just dont play well with other fish but make great solo "pet" fish. Mine (a red texas) lives with a plastic bubble fish and even that takes a constant beating :D

Flower horns are very territorial. Mine however has learned to live with other tank mates. One because all the fishes were of the same size when I put them in. Secondly because I have a big tank.

I have a flowerhorn (heart shaped) with a green terror, jd, electric blue jd and other mixed cichlids, I tend to find, that now and then, the flowerhorn may chase off a fish, but never actually gets into a fight. I would have agree with the others, in that you do need a bigger tank. You also need to ensure they have their own respective areas, caves etc.

Here is a vid of mine...
