Floating Log Failure

i am not sure where to go with this question so i am sticking it here.
i own two floating logs for my fish tanks. click on the link below if your not sure what a floating log is.
anyways for my betta tank i have a tiny betta floating log, perfect for a five gallon tank. the fish in it loves the ornament, which is why this is an issue for me.
the log has decided it no longer wants to float, now to fix it i have removed it from the tank for a bit to dry it out, and it floats again. i just want some ideas on why this thing has decided its a slow sinking stone.

anyone have these things? anyone know that's going on with this thing?

I have one of these which I don't use now, hate to state the obvious but it sounds like it may have a leak(?) After drying it out why don't you place it in a basin of water and check for air bubbles then patch it with some super-glue

Does it float right on the top of the water, or does it hang down so it's like a hoop for him to go through?

it floats, when it drys out. he likes to hang out and sleep in there.
