Flicking

Sorry to jump in on this.
Im having a problem with my fish 'flicking' also.
there is no sign of white spot or any other diseases. all the paraments are fine.
My water change was done at the weekend yet a few still seem to be flicking.

I had white spot for a while about 2 months ago which only cleared up with King British WS3 formula everything else I used never seemed to totally clear it.
When the fish started flicking again I added King British Disease Clear (recommended by my LFS) this seemed to stop them flicking before, but has had no effect this time.

Im at a lost end at the minute as i dont no what it can be...

Is his breathing more rapid than normal? Velvet affects gills first. Dont see any external signs of parasites (also good< not ich!)His fins dont look clamped so thats also good(correct me if im wrong). Any darting? Any inverts in the tank?
best remedy is copper meds with velvet plus raising temp and TOTAL DARKNESS for a few days (3-5). The parasite life-cycle cannot survive in darkeness. you must increase aeration during temp raise and med treatment...especially for he cories. If any inverts remove from tank before treating with copper. Once meds are done run 2 carbons over course of a week before reintroducing inverts.

Hi ive just been reading your posts and would like to add. My guppies were flicking no other signs of problems, and their gills were red, my LFS said "gill flukes" I have completed, with sterazin, two courses of treatment now and they are still flicking. Any ideas? Or do i start a third course?

My tiger barbs flick from time to time, but they have done this for over a year since I've had them. For me it's normal to see them flick from time to time. But yes, like the other guys said look out for any other symptoms but I'd say if they did it too much then it could be the sign of illness. Test your water parameters also, make sure that they are OK.

Also if you do use copper meds, expect some plants to suffer... and take any carbon out of the filter when medicating fish. Be careful with the amount you use as well.
