had a good job this evening, i sealed the tops. of all my fish tanks with cling film because ive had to spray my house with flea spray (thanks to my new kitten!) Does anyone know how long i can leave my tanks sealed for?

Leave the tanks sealed for at least a day and make sure that you have shut off the air pumps. The air pump will bypass the cling film and bring the poison into the tank water.

thanks, i shall leave them sealed till tomorrow evening, i turned all the air pumps off before spraying.

For future ref. a plain old beach towel is fine to block flea spray, its porous enough to allow aire flow, but prevents the mainly particualte spray penetrating (obviously don't use the same towel until its washed decently though!).

I had to do the same with my tanks when our cat had fleas.
